FAQ

Can I see some examples of your work?

Absolutely! Check out our Gallery or any of our Social Media pages to view some great examples of the awesome work we’ve done recently.

Can we come and see you?

We love meeting customers in person. However, because our sales staff are constantly on the road or helping other clients, and because we’d like to give you the time you deserve, please contact us to book in an appointment to see one of our friendly sales staff.

How durable are your screen prints? I’m concerned about cracking and shrinking on my garments that are made of stretchy material.

We take pride in every single one of our prints and always ensure that every print has the correct thickness of ink and has been cured for the required amount of time, no less. This ensures every print will be as durable and will last as long as possible.

I have something that is urgent and needs to be printed for use in a few days. Can you help?

We’ll go out of our way to try and help. We offer an emergency rush turn-around service to handle the urgent jobs that you need. These types of jobs will incur additional fees, but we’ll be sure to let you know what these are when requesting a quote or placing your order.

Can I pick my order up?

Whilst we can arrange nationwide delivery; we also offer a daily artwork collection/order delivery to Cambridge and Hamilton drop-off points – this just needs to be arranged by appointment. Please contact us to book a delivery or collection with one of our friendly sales staff.

Where abouts on a t-shirt can you actually screen print?

Shown below are a few of the most common positions that we print on t-shirts and the names we call each position.

Our maximum print area on the front and back of a t-shirt is 200mm wide x 303mm high. Please note it is not possible to screen print right to the edges/seams of t-shirts, over buttons or too close to collars. We also generally do not print over stitching and folds, for the sake of a great looking design and print. We always leave a 20mm gap between the edges and/or seams and the design, which roughly equates to two finger spaces.

This is because when we remove the excess ink, any bumps or un-flat surfaces will cause ink to build up and not be removed cleanly, resulting in a design that has lots of “bleed”, or ink that won’t dry because it is too thick.

How do I find out how much my design will cost to print?

As we’re sure you can appreciate, there are a lot of variables that come into play when determining the final costs of screen printing jobs. Unfortunately this means we can’t offer you a down-loadable price guide. In saying that, we offer hassle and obligation free quotes. Please feel free to send us any artwork or ideas that you want printed, and one of our friendly sales staff will be in touch as soon as they can to provide you with more information or a price.

Do I own the screens & films once Triple J is finished with it?

In a word, ‘No’. Triple J charges a setup fee for the labour involved with creating the films and the screens themselves, as this process is both time consuming and delicate. This fee does not include the purchase of the screens or the films once the job is complete.

The benefit to our customers is that if you ever need a repeat job of the same artwork (and thus, the same screen), we can simply take the screen out of our archive and reuse it with no hassle for you, our client. If your job is not repeated, rather than put excess strain on the environment and discard unused screens, we will reclaim unused screens, remove all traces of your artwork and recycle the screen. This also means you never need to worry about the possibility of copyright and plagiarism of your trademarked designs.

I have an idea for a screen print, but I don’t know how to design it. What can I do?

If you’ve seen something you like in a magazine or you have a great idea but you don’t know anyone who can design it – simply contact one of our friendly sales team about how our graphic designer can bring your idea to life.

Our designer can:

  • Re-draw or re-create artwork
  • Brand development
  • Layouts and artwork placement
  • Visual identity

Whilst we always recommend that you supply us with artwork to ensure complete satisfaction with the job, we understand that sometimes this just isn’t possible. Use of our design services will attract an additional charge, the price of which will be dependent on the complexity of the job. We are only too happy to provide a hassle and obligation free quote.
